The Baltic Art gallery is a perfect venue for your wedding day. I was thrilled when Emmie and Jethro choose me to photograph their Baltic wedding. Oddly enough when I first spoke to Emmie we quickly realised that our paths had already crossed. I had taught her sister and had known Emmie briefly when she was in Sixth form. Apart from making me feel pretty old, it was lovely to see her again all grown up.

This was a Baltic Wedding like no other, the atmosphere was electric thanks to The Gate Crashers and a fantastic crowd of people, who danced the night away.

I asked Emmie to tell me a little bit more about her Baltic Wedding:

Please tell me about your Baltic Wedding and why you chose it?

Since I was a kid I’ve loved art, and home. The BALTIC was always the place I looked forward going to the most in Newcastle, and as I got older and moved away from home I started to appreciate it even more. Coming back to view the BALTIC as a venue, my husband and I knew it was the one. It felt right.

Were you happy with your venue choice? Did it live up to your expectations? How?

The BALTIC exceeded all expectations I had! It was so light, the staff were amazing and it couldn’t have gone any better. It was modern, clean, contemporary, stylish and just gorgeous.

Below you can see some baltic Wedding Photos from this perfect wedding:

Did you have a theme for your wedding? Is so what was it and were you happy with it?

We went simple, boho and natural with lots of wild flowers. Everything was stripped back to match the venue, but beautiful.

Tell me about the food at your wedding? Was it yummy? Why?

The food and service was incredible! The BALTIC were amazing at dealing with very specific dietary requirements (we had people we wanted just omelettes, and those on a special steak only diet!) I wish I had more room for my Sticky Toffee Pudding though!

Tell me about the service? Did you write your own vows, how did you feel?

The service was so emotional, and perfect for us. Our vows were modern (we’re both feminists) and Jethro surprised me with a reading of a song that we both loved that he had reworked. I did do my own speech at the breakfast though because girl power!

What was the best part of the day?

I can’t choose own! From start to end the day was so emotional and just perfect.

If you wore a dress, why did you pick it and how did you feel wearing it?

We’re not traditional people so I didn’t wear white, I wore a vintage style, floral-embroidered sequin gown in a Champagne colour. I had the back altered so it was scooped, and added in a satin sash to make it unique. I had green and white leaves and flowers in my hair too, which completed the look.

What was the funniest thing that happened?

When Jethro got onstage with the band at the evening party to take over the mic was a highlight! I don’t think I can listen to Whisky In The Jar ever again…

Did anything surprise you about your Baltic Weddings?

I was surprised at how smoothly everything went, it went by so fast!

Tell me about your first dance.

Our first dance was Stars by Icelandic singer Axel Flovent. It was perfect.
