Here Maya tells us all about her perfect wedding day at Barn On The Bay Wedding
Please tell me about your venue and why you chose it?
We chose this venue because we love the coast, we love the location and it was a relaxed and informal vibe.
Were you happy with your venue choice? Did it live up to your expectations? How?
Absolutely! We were very lucky with the weather and able to go down the the beach. Everyone at the venue made sure the day ran smoothly and it was a great spot and space to be. We were able to chose our own suppliers which made it more individual for us.
Did you have a theme for your wedding? Is so what was it and were you happy with it?
We didn’t have a theme other than relaxed and colourful.
Tell me about the food at your wedding? was it yummy? Why?
We had picnic boxes on the beach which were a great success and then pizzas for the main meal, these were delicious and added to the relaxed/informal atmosphere.
Tell me about the service? Did you write your own vows, how did you feel?
We had someone we knew write our vows for us who is a celebrate. It made it extra special having someone we know do the ceremony.
What was the best part of the day?
Being on the dance floor with everyone we love with the best band.
If you wore a dress, why did you pick it and how did you feel wearing it?
I instantly felt like me when I put it on and felt comfortable as well as having the look that I wanted. It fitted perfectly, I got it off the internet during lockdown and didn’t try any others on.
What was the funniest thing that happened?
The groom falling over on the dance floor whilst trying to limbo under a trumpet!
Did anything surprise you?
How much we both enjoyed it. We wondered if we might be stressed or overwhelmed but we really did have the best day ever!
Tell me about your first dance.
The band ‘crashed’ into our first dance half way through, this was a great surprise for our guests and took the limelight off us.
If you were plan your wedding all other again what would you change?
We wouldn’t change a thing!
Any thing that you would like to add that we may have missed.
Lindsey did a great job at making us feel relaxed, neither of us especially like having our photo taken but we didn’t mind on the day and love all of the photos.
