It was my first time at Bowburn Hall Hotel for Rachel and Matthew’s wedding. I was blown away by the venue. It is an old building with Ivy running up the outside of the brick wall. Inside Bowburn Hall it is cosy and warm with fantastic decorations. At the back of the building there is an extension which has created a large open plan room. Perfect for a wedding venue.

I love how they have decorated the space, it is very unusual and creative. At Bowburn Hall they have hung many paintings from the ceiling and filled in the gaps with foliage. The colour pallet is contemporary, with shades of teal, blue and gold. It all just seems to work. The large garden becomes part of the space with its large doors, it lets in plenty of light. Perfect for the photographs. Wedding Hotels Durham.

Rachel and Matthew decided to have their ceremony in a nearby church, and to get ready at their homes.

It was lovely to capture the moment Rachel received some Disney themed gifts from her husband to be on their wedding day.

Rachel is Disney mad and had decided to make this her wedding theme. As a drama teacher and talented dancer and singer I knew that she would pull this theme off no problem.

The church service was beautiful and I enjoyed taking the group photographs on the large staircase outside. We  even had time to recreate the scene where Cinderella loses her slipper. Rachel and Matthew were so laid back and up for a laugh, I knew it was going to be a fun day!

Out in the garden we spent some taking taking photographs of the bridesmaids and groomsmen, they were a confident and lively bunch. I could tell that several of them were also performers like Rachel. They clearly were all very comfortable in each others company and best of friends. They giggled and skipped around the garden. Consequently creating some very relaxed and fun pictures.

I absolutely loved Rachels table decorations, and so did her guests at Bowburn Hall

Everyone was taking pictures of them. Each table had a different Disney film as their theme. For example if you were lucky enough to be on the Alice and Wonderland Table,  then at the centre of the table was a teapot with the words ‘drink me’. I particularly loved her nod to ‘ Mary Poppins’. Table spoons contained a little sweet which were carefully wrapped up. On the spoon it read ‘A spoonful of sugar’. Love it!

Rachel and Matthews guest were also treated to a laser cut keyring in the shape of Mickey Mouse. What is not to love. There was even more to come! As Rachel and Matthew are fantastic singers, so keep company with other professional singers. Some of their friends performed during the wedding, and the standard was exceptional. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house when Rachel and Matthew decided to sing a little song together. It was simply magical.

Such a talented couple who are clearly deeply in love. The atmosphere was beautiful at this wedding and I was sad to go home. Rachel was the perfect Disney Princess and I wish them all the love and happiness.
