Amazing Scotland Wedding of Holly and John. They made the decision to marry in Holly’s ancestral homeland of Scotland Applecross. The tiny hamlet in The Highlands of Scotland certainly wasn’t the easiest place to reach especially as I am a wedding photographer in Northumbria! It was a real testament to the importance Holly and John play in the lives of their friends and family, that the church and venue were standing room only. Holly and John’s Applecross wedding offered something that few other destinations could.
The feeling of remoteness and the beauty of the scenery at this Scotland wedding was truly breathtaking. Definitely comparable with Northumbria!
Many photographers would have turned down the 9-hour drive to a shoot, but I knew the views would be worth it. I even managed to get my husband interested in some landscape photography.
The walk from Clachan Church to The Walled Garden yielded some great photo opportunities. Though keeping up with the bagpipe player certainly wasn’t easy at this Scotland Wedding.
I think the bridesmaids appreciated the speed walk, it was rather chilly. Credit to Holly for persisting with the couple photographs. As the sun went down and the rain intermittently tried to dampen the occasion, Holly was a real trooper in the chilly conditions. Worth it though, the shots on the beach at Applecross were fantastic, the backdrop was incredible.
So many young children might not have suited every couple, but it gave their wedding a wonderful family feel. Children always pull the best faces and they certainly had fun running around in the walled garden. A huge thank you to Holly and John for making me part of their special day and introducing me to the beautiful Scotland Wedding in Applecross.
Lots of love,
