I was thrilled to be asked to photograph Caroline & David’s wedding. I had worked with them both at Longbenton school and had known them when they first started dated. They then decided to move abroad and teach in America. It was lovely to see them again and catch up.

Rather than me telling you about their beautiful wedding at Le Petit Chateau, Caroline can tell you in her own words.

Planning a wedding from overseas was daunting at first, but the moment we saw photos of Le Petit Chateau and read their amazing reviews, we knew it was perfect for us. It is elegant and unique, and with its Mediterranean gardens it is paradise in the middle of Northumberland.
We were exceptionally happy with the venue, and it lived up to every expectation. Everything went so smoothly and was so well done. The staff looked after us and made sure everything went as planned.
We didn’t have a theme for your wedding, but we did have a colour palette of soft blues and greens, our favourite colours.
The food at le Petit Chateau was outstanding. We both love spicy food and so the Asian Feast menu was perfect for us. It was 5 courses of sharing plates, with dishes such as a soba noodle salad, salt and pepper soft shell crab, tempura prawns, red Thai curry and yuzu rice pudding. Delicious!
We went for a very simple ceremony, choosing our vows from those offered by the registrar. The ceremony was beautiful and it was so wonderful and intimate, especially in the gorgeous Belle Epoque ceremony room which was stunningly decorated.

The best thing about the day was being with all of our family and friends. The hardest thing about living abroad is missing all the people we love, so it was so special to be able to be with everyone.

I found my dress by complete accident at BHLDN in Chicago. It was exactly what I had described to a friend a few days earlier as my perfect dress, and when I tried it on I was insistent that I didn’t need to look any further! (I did try a few other on for fun, obviously!) The simple lace bodice with thin straps balanced with the A-line tulle skirt, and the gorgeous back detail made me feel so elegant and it was also so comfortable.

The funniest thing that happened at our wedding day at Le Petit Chateau was when the registrar accidentally said David’s brother’s name during the ceremony – luckily, not at a crucial point!

We danced to the very romantic ‘Kissing You’ by Des’Ree for our first dance. We were both a little bit nervous about the dance, but we really enjoyed it.

We wouldn’t change a thing about our wedding, we are so happy with how everything turned out.
Our band, Hip Hop Hooray, definitely made the reception the best party we could imagine! They are such a unique wedding band who bring a lot of noise and excellent music. We did a lot of dancing and had so much fun.

Lindsay & John – ‘She made us feel relaxed and comfortable’ – 5/5

We had the privilege of choosing Lindsey to be our photographer for our autumn wedding. From our first meeting to getting our photos Lindsey made us feel relaxed and comfortable. She was professional and calm through the day, acting like a ninja to perfectly capture every moment.  Thank you for being so awesome. The photos are great.
