I was thrilled to photograph Caroline & David’s wedding at Le Petit Chateau. I had worked with them both at Longbenton school and had known them when they first started dating. They then decided to move abroad and teach in America. It was lovely to see them again and catch up.

Rather than me telling you about their beautiful wedding at Le Petit Chateau, Caroline can tell you in her own words.

Planning a wedding from overseas was daunting at first, but the moment we saw photos of Le Petit Chateau and read their amazing reviews, we knew it was perfect for us. It is elegant and unique and with its Mediterranean gardens,

Le Petit Chateau is a paradise in the middle of Northumberland.

None the less, we were exceptionally happy with the venue, and it lived up to every expectation. Everything went so smoothly and was so well done.

The staff looked after us and made sure everything went as planned.

Further more, we didn’t have a theme for your wedding, but we did have a colour palette of soft blues and greens, our favourite colours.
The food at Le Petit Chateau was outstanding. We both love spicy food and so the Asian Feast menu is perfect for us. It’s a 5 courses of sharing plates, with dishes such as a soba noodle salad, salt and pepper soft shell crab. Tempura prawns, red Thai curry and yuzu rice pudding. Delicious!

Furthermore, ee went for a very simple ceremony, choosing our vows from those offered by the registrar.

The ceremonies beautiful and is so wonderful and intimate, especially in the gorgeous Belle Epoque ceremony room which is stunningly decorated.

The best thing about the day is being with all of our family and friends. The hardest thing about living abroad is missing all the people we love, so it is so special to be able to be with everyone.

I found my dress by complete accident at BHLDN in Chicago. It is exactly what I had described to a friend a few days earlier as my perfect dress.

When I tried it on I was insistent that I didn’t need to look any further! (I did try a few other on for fun, obviously!)

Therefore the simple lace bodice with thin straps balanced with the A-line tulle skirt and the gorgeous back detail made me feel so elegant and its so comfortable.

The funniest thing that happened at our wedding day at Le Petit Chateau was when the registrar accidentally said David’s brother’s name during the ceremony – luckily, not at a crucial point!

Later on we danced to the very romantic ‘Kissing You’ by Des’Ree for our first dance. We were both a little bit nervous about the dance, but we really enjoyed it.

To conclude, we wouldn’t change a thing about our wedding, we are so happy with how everything turned out.
Our band, Hip Hop Hooray, definitely made the reception the best party we could imagine! They are such a unique wedding band who bring a lot of noise and excellent music. We did a lot of dancing and had so much fun.
