I loved Photographing Laura and Paul’s wedding at Matfen Hall Hotel. Matfen Hall has got to be one of my favourite venues. I am really spoiled for choice as to where to do the couple pictures. I have done quite a few weddings at Matfen now and I never stuck for fresh ideas for the couple portraits. It really has endless possibilities to be creative.
Paul & Laura have the cutest little girls, who were a huge part of the day. The certainly kept everyone on their toes with their boundless energy. I really enjoyed doing a little family portrait session with them. To entertain the kids I simply asked them to play around with games outside and I documented the fun! They were very quick running about but I managed to keep up with them!
The decorations at Matfen Hall Hotel where truly beautiful.
They choose to have illuminated letters and several blossom trees. Having a cute small and intimate wedding allowed them to have their wedding breakfast in the Grand-Hall. Each table had their own blossom tree. Sat against the stunning stained-glass window. This really will have been an unforgettable meal
I interviewed Laura about her Matfen Hall Hotel Wedding. Read what she has to say:
Please tell me about your venue and why you chose it?
We decided on Matfen hall because of the great hall which is simply amazing with the huge staircase and stain glass window. All the rooms are incredible
Were you happy with your venue choice? Did it live up to your expectations? How?
Definitely. We loved our venue the staff were amazing and the decor went amazingly well with the room. There was plenty of spaces for guests to relax and enjoy the day.
Did you have a theme for your wedding? Is so what was it and were you happy with it?
We didn’t have a theme as such however we had little touchs of Harry Potter on the day from our table place names and numbers to our chalk boards what we hidden the deathly Hallows in
Tell me about the food at your Matfen Hall Hotel wedding? was it yummy? Why?
Food was so nice of what we managed to eat! I did manage to eat all my pudding however
Tell me about the service at Matfen Hall Hotel? Did you write your own vows, how did you feel?
It went so quick the service! I think I rushed the walk down the aisle, but it was the best part finally seeing Paul’s face
What was the best part of the day at Matfen Hall?
The whole day! The morning getting ready, walking down the aisle finally the food the first dance then finally the fireworks
If you wore a dress, why did you pick it and how did you feel wearing it?
My dress was my wild card from the wedding dress company. I had already seen the dress on their Instagram page and loved it but it was complete opposite to what I was wanting. I loved my dress and still do
What was the funniest thing that happened at your Matfen Hall Hotel Wedding?
Trying to see some people trying to dance
Did anything surprise you?
How the day went, our day dragged which was way better for us to make the most of the day however most people say the day flys by ours definitely wasn’t one of them
Tell me about your first dance.
It was so relaxed it was nice to be just us
If you were plan your wedding all other again what would you change?
I wouldn’t change a thing apart from maybe try and make the wedding a two day event Haha I’d love to go back and do it all over again
Any thing that you would like to add that we may have missed about your Matfen Hall Hotel Wedding
Weddings are stressful but it is 100% worth it to finally be married is the best feeling ever, you forget about all the little things and just enjoy the day for what it is
