Newton Hall Northumberland, Photographers Gallery
I loved photographing Shona’s and Mark’s wedding. The late afternoon sun was stunning and Newton hall Northumberland is one of my favourite venues. But rather than me telling you about this beautiful wedding, I think it’s best if you heard what Shona had to say about her wedding.
I fell in love with Newton Hall Northumberland as soon as we went to the open day. We didn’t look around any other wedding venues.
I had such a good feeling as soon as I walked up the steps to the Hall and knew this was the place I wanted to get married. Fortunately, we wanted a winter wedding and they had the date free we had in mind.
Newton Hall Northumberland has a list of recommended suppliers, which was where I got the details for the hair and makeup artist. Plus Hattie Murdoch the vocalist we had to perform for the ceremony and reception drinks. The first time I heard Hattie perform at the open day she sounded so original. We thought it would be something different and very special to hear when walking down the aisle.
Getting married the day after Valentine’s Day proved a bit tricky when trying to find a florist to do the flowers. Fortunately, we found Thoughts of You flowers in a wedding magazine. We thought the bouquets and arrangements were amazing. Amy and Alison were very easy to chat too. Very passionate and enthusiastic about their job and did an outstanding job of our flowers they were exactly what I envisaged.
My dress was not what I had in mind at first. But Wendy got me to try it on and I thought the detail was so intricate and loved the way it sparkled in the light I knew it was “the one”. It’s such a shame you only wear it for one day!!
I found my shoes while looking on Pinterest for pretty flats. Being 5ft11ins I didn’t want to tower over Mark but also wanted to be comfy and pretty.
I got a lot of my ideas from Pinterest for the decorations and did the order of the day, slate hearts, table plans and vases with acorns myself. I really enjoyed letting my creative side out.
My mum’s friend’s daughter, Rosie has her own business designing jewellery and hairpieces for weddings. So was fortunate enough for her to design and make my hairpiece. She really did an amazing job it looked fantastic and managed to stay in all day and night.
I found Lindsey (Forget me Knot Images) the photographer by chance really. I was looking at Newton Hall Northumbria Facebook page when I came across a link to photographs of a wedding she had done there.
They looked so stunning and natural. Following speaking to Lindsey I knew I could trust her to do a fantastic job of capturing our special day. Lindsey worked tirelessly throughout the day and has produced some amazing photographs for us to treasure forever of our Newton Hall Wedding.
I had the most amazing magical day from start to finish, I really can’t convey in words how fantastic Newton Hall Northumberland was and looking back I wouldn’t have changed a thing!
My advice to all brides and grooms is to relax and enjoy every minute of your special day. it will be over before you know it. No one will notice the little things you spent hours worrying and deliberating about or the things that didn’t go right!
It was the perfect wedding day at Newton Hall Northumberland. Hopefully, you can see this in the Photographers gallery. Newton Hall Wedding venue is the perfect location, right near Newton Beach if you fancy a dip. Looks great for the wedding pictures. Images Newton Hall images
